Day 1: Les Houches → Les Contamines
Start your adventure in Les Houches. The Bellevue cable car lets you skip the first ascent, easing into the trek. The trail winds through forests and alpine hamlets, offering spectacular views of Mont Blanc, the Dôme du Goûter, and the Aiguille de Bionnassay.
After climbing to the Col du Tricot, descend via scenic switchbacks to the Chalet de Miage, finishing the day along a serene riverside path into Les Contamines.
Overnight: Comfortable hotel in Les Contamines (half-board).
Day 2: Les Contamines → Les Chapieux
After transferring to Notre-Dame de la Gorge, climb to the Col du Bonhomme, a classic TMB pass. Continue to Croix du Bonhomme, enjoying panoramic views of the Aiguille des Glaciers.
Descend into the remote Chapieux Valley, surrounded by pristine alpine landscapes, arriving in the pastoral plains near Les Chapieux.
Overnight: Mountain auberge or hotel in Les Chapieux or Bourg-Saint-Maurice (half-board).
Day 3: Les Chapieux → Rifugio Elisabetta
Begin the ascent from Chapieux Valley to Refuge des Mottets. In summer, a shuttle shortens this part. Continue to Col de la Seigne, crossing into Italy.
From the pass, admire views of the Aiguilles de Peuterey and Mont Blanc de Courmayeur. Descend gently to the iconic Rifugio Elisabetta, nestled beneath glaciers.
Overnight: Rifugio Elisabetta (dormitory, half-board).
